Ontario Volleyball Association was recently approved for a Canadian Paralympic Committee’s Recruitment Programming Fund grant in the amount of $10,000 to further develop sitting volleyball opportunities for persons with a disability. The OVA believes in fair and equal access to participation, regardless of age, gender, geographic location or ability. With those beliefs in mind, it is the goal of the OVA to ensure that all children and youth, both able-bodied and disabled athletes, have the opportunity to experience a fun, supportive, non-competitive environment.

Registration deadlines for the 2012 Ontario Championships taking place at RIM Park in Waterloo, ON are fast approaching!
The deadlines are:
Weekend #1 (March 30 - April 1, 2012): 13U Girls and 16U Girls Registration Deadline: CLOSED
Weekend #2 (April 13 - 15, 2012): 15U and 17U Registration Deadline: CLOSED
Weekend #3 (April 20 - 22, 2012): 14U, 16U Boys, and 18U Registration Deadline: Monday January 30, 2012

The OVA would like to congratulate all the athletes who were selected to represent thier Regions at the 2012 Ontario Winter Games.
The 2012 Ontario Winter Games will be held in Collingwood, ON from March 8-11, 2012.

Ontario Volleyball is now accepting applications for Head and Assistant coaching positions within the 2012 18U Ontario Indoor Provincial Team.
Team Ontario Training Program Description Female -Two (2) teams of athletes born in 1994 or later will be identified mainly through the High Performance Centre (HPC) which will be held at Humber College from July 2-7. The selected athletes will train at a location to be determined from July 10-16 before attending the National Team Training Centre (NTCC) from July 17-22 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Male -Two (2) teams of athletes born in 1994 or later will be identified mainly through the High Performance Centre (HPC) which will be held at Humber College from July 2-7. The selected athletes will train at a location to be determined from July 10-16 before attending the National Team Challenge Cup (NTCC) from July 17-22 in Gatineau, Quebec.

The Coaches Association of Ontario is launching a new pilot program under Quest for Gold called Experts Express. Through the Q4G funds, Club Coaches who are not yet working with carded athletes will be able to gain on-site, in club access to provincially endorsed Experts. The hope is that this will provide them a mentor to help apply the classroom learning from NCCP.

The OVA is pleased to announce that it will be co-hosting a Coaching Symposium in conjunction with the 2012 CIS Volleyball Championships being held March 2 - 4, 2012 at McMaster University (Women's Championship) and Queen's University (Men's Championship).
