In continuing its dialogue with club leaders and contacts, the OVA brings another Town Hall  forward to discuss the topic of risk management.

This discussion will be presented in two parts, starting on Monday, October 23 which focuses on insurance. Joining OVA for this session will be Jason Jansson and Brent  Brandham from Gallagher Insurance. The conversation will focus on a review of OVA Insurance Coverage, errors and omissions insurance (E&O) vs Directors & Officers Insurance (D&O) and how to protect yourself at the Club level.

The risk management series will pick up again on Monday, November 27 with a look a Safe Sport. Volleyball Canada's Safe Sport Director Caroline Sharp and Safe Sport Coordinator Julie Young will make a presentation which includes Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner (OSIC) updates, how Volleyball Canada and its provincial sport organizations are working to make volleyball a safe sport environment and the Rule of 2. There will be a focus on digital communication (i.e. emailing, texting, direct messages, etc.) and how one should approach situations such as if an athlete were to text/message them first.

The Safe Sport session will also speak on club and directors' responsibilities, the role of Volleyball Canada in relation to the OVA and OVA clubs, board orientation and implementation of Rowan's Law.
