OVA Region 1 is excited to announce it’s first ever High Performance Identification Camp.  This camp will take place from March 29 to March 31, 2019 in Thunder Bay.

In accordance with OVA’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plan, Region 1 has been given spots for up to 2 females and 2 males to attend.  These athletes will be invited to to the High Performance Centre at Nipissing University in North Bay from July 7 to July 13, 2019.

The HPC is an 7-day development camp focused on introducing a large group of athletes to a high performance training environment.  The High Performance Centre leads promising athletes through a variety of sessions with Team Ontario coaches to help them develop their skills. Athletes will be presented with concepts relative to the university and international levels in order for them to better understand the steps they need to take in order to achieve their high performance goals.

OVA Region 1 is pleased to announce that Matthew Schnarr and Sean Pellow will be the coaches at the Region 1 Identification Camp.  Matthew is the Head Coach of Team Ontario Black Girls and Sean is a Team Ontario Mentor Coach. They bring many years of experience and knowledge to the Region 1 Camp.

Registration for the Region 1 High Performance ID Camp opens today (Friday March 1st, 2019).  You can see locations, dates and session times on the poster (found below).
