The OVA is proud to partner with the Academy for Student Athlete Development (ASAD) to support the development of student athletes in the sport of volleyball.

ASAD provides athletic and academic support to athletes in grades 9-12 striving for success at provincial, national and international competitions. The athletic portion of the training is delivered in partnership with provincial and national sports organization to ensure alignment with Long Term Athlete Development principles.

The strength of the ASAD program is that both the athletic and academic portions are delivered during the day, leaving the evening free for athletes to rest, study or participate in further sport specific training.

Volleyball athletes who have been part of the ASAD program in the last years have had to register as part of the generic sport program. The partnership with OVA will ensure that volleyball players will receive training that is in line with the Volleyball Canada LTAD model and that will integrate seamlessly in their club training program.

The OVA will provide the curriculum for volleyball training and will partner with local clubs for the delivery of the volleyball specific content. Volleyball will be offered in both current ASAD locations: London and the Durham region.

An information session about the volleyball stream at ASAD will take place on January 30th, 2019 at 6:30pm via webinar.
