Congratulations to the athletes selected to be part of the 2019 Team Ontario Elite program! The teams were selected from a group of highly talented 17U and 18U athletes in Ontario. They will be exposed to quality competition in January and March as they embark on an experience of a lifetime to France.

In January, the Team Ontario Elite girls camp will be located at the Markham Pan Am Centre. During this time, they will train and scrimmage with the York University women’s volleyball team. The girls will also be competing in the ONE Volleyball Challenger Tournament on Saturday, January 5th. The girls will play against some of the best talent in the province against athletes who have competed at the OCAA, USport, and NCAA level. In January, the Team Ontario Elite boys camp will be held at McMaster University. At McMaster, the boys will training at the David Braley Athletic Centre where the 2017/18 OUA champions McMaster Marauders compete. The Team Ontario Elite athletes will also get the chance to play against top Polish junior club – JSW. Poland is a powerhouse in men’s volleyball as they recently won the Men’s Volleyball Nations League. For those interested in attending the matches against JSW, please visit https://mcmaster.universitytickets.com/w/default.aspx to get tickets.

These training environments will prepare the athletes for their trip to France during the March break (March 7th-15th). The boys are heading to Montpellier and the girls to Toulouse. They will be hosted by the France Youth National Team programs. They will partake in a week filled with international training and competition with the France Youth National Teams. The exposure to international volleyball will give the athletes some perspective on what top volleyball at their age looks like. Good luck athletes!
