Eastern Elite Invitational - February 2/3

By OVA, 09/11/18, 7:45AM EDT

The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is excited to announce the 3rd annual Eastern Elite Invitational tournament (formerly the Ontario-Quebec Series) will take place on February 2nd and 3rd at the Markham Pan-Am Center (16 Main St Unionville, Unionville, ON L3R 2E4).

The Eastern Elite Invitational is a prestigious event that welcomes the top 17U Girls teams across Canada to compete in Ontario at a high performance format event. CCAA and USport coaches will be invited to get a sneak peak at some of the country’s top talent, offering a unique opportunity for athletes to gain additional exposure prior to competing at Nationals in Toronto later in May.

“We’re very excited to be bringing this event back to Ontario this year after our partners in Quebec hosted last year. In addition to inviting post-secondary coaches from across the country, we’ve committed more resources than ever to ensuring this event grows into one of the top high performance events in Canada in the coming years,” exclaimed Carrie Campbell, Manager of Indoor Programs with the OVA.

The tournament, formerly known as the Ontario-Quebec Series, has been rebranded to try to encourage exceptional teams in western Canada, as well as the maritime provinces, to make the trip to compete. “We think this high performance tournament can provide teams from across Canada with a unique opportunity to challenge each other and improve their game leading into provincials and nationals. We are really excited to contribute to the development of young Canadian volleyball players through this event,” added LP Mainville, Director of High Performance at the OVA.

Please note that this tournament will be capped at 12 teams and is open to register by invitation only. Teams who are interested in receiving an invitation to compete at the Eastern Elite Invitational should contact Carrie Campbell at Post-secondary coaches who would like to attend the event for recruiting purposes should also contact Carrie to receive your credentials.
