The Ontario Volleyball Association is extremely excited to pass along the Youth and Junior National Team rosters on behalf of Volleyball Canada. The Ontario representation among the teams this year is outstanding. LP Mainville, High Performance Director passes along his congratulations to these athletes:
"I am very happy and proud of the number of Ontario athletes that were selected to the National Team programs this year. We should definitely expect to have Ontario players on these programs but to have just over 50% representation is incredible. It really speaks to the quality of our athlete development structure in the OVA, from the club level to the provincial programs. Clubs have been working hard to introduce players to volleyball earlier and to provide athletes with a better training environment while the OVA has been able to better align its High Performance programs with Volleyball Canada in the past few years.
We should all be proud of our club coaches, parents and of all those who contributed to the development and success of Ontario players. As we keep working on aligning our development structure between clubs and provincial programs, I am confident that we will be able to reach similar levels of success within the OVA in future years.
Congratulations to all selected athletes. We will be following your progress and performances this summer.”
