WATERLOO, ON – Events 3 and 4 of the 2025 Ontario Championships were the first back-to-back feature from this year's event - a six-day stretch at RIM Park which had 323 total teams come through the doors. The two events delivered another unforgettable week of high-level competition. Events 3 and 4 showcased the province’s top young talent, with athletes in the 17U Girls (17UG), TLS Boys, 15U Boys (15UB), 16U Boys (16UB), and 17U Boys (17UB) divisions battling for the coveted provincial champion title.
The theme days continued with Retro (Event 3) and Jersey day (Event 4) to add some atmosphere and excitement to the tournaments.
The 17UG division was packed with intensity as clubs jockeyed for the hardware. This year's provincial event for this age group required four divisions, one more than the 2024 event. In the Division 1 Tier 1 gold medal match, it was Durham Attack Intensity who emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle against Halton Hurricanes Cat. 7 Jessie, securing the championship in a close two-set finale. Durham, who was unable to medal at the 17UG Grand Prix back in March turned the tides at the Ontario Championships by defeating the Grand Prix champions.
Meanwhile, Storm Tornado claimed bronze, demonstrating their resilience in a tightly contested match against Barrie Elites Lightning. The division highlighted the depth of talent in Ontario’s girls' volleyball pipeline, with several players demonstrating the caliber to make waves at the national level in the near-future.
The TLS Boys division saw the dominance of one of the province's fastest growing clubs, Venom Volleyball, capture the Ontario Championships gold medal with the Havoc squad. The number one ranked team of the tournament remained strong to the end, leading them past a tough Toronto Thunderbolts squad in the finals.
KW Preds Altius Strong rounded out the podium with a bronze medal finish, showcasing the growing competitiveness of boys’ volleyball across the province.
