On February 25th, Bishop Smith Elementary School in Pembroke hosted a great day of sitting volleyball!

The local community gathered 24 teams, over 300 students, and 24 student referees together to try playing sitting volleyball. A growing variation of the sport for both para and able-bodied athletes, this was a great introduction for so many young athletes.

A huge shoutout to Paralympian Jolan Wong for leading this initiative, with amazing support from Angela Bergeron, Damian Solar, and the Pembroke school board staff.

For more info in the event, check out the article over on Pembroke Today or view the media release from Renfrew County Catholic District School Board.

Big thanks to our friends at ParaSport Ontario for being part of this special event!
