The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is happy to announce the addition of a new member to our team!

Shunya Yamada is joining the OVA as the new Operations Coordinator. 

 “I am very excited to join the OVA team and help grow and promote the beautiful game of volleyball!” - Shunya Yamada

His role will include assisting operations and event management of our convention centre and Ontario Championship events, supporting clubs, coaches and referees, and managing the OVA Beach Tour.

 Shunya is passionate about sport. An avid rock climber, skier, and golfer, he currently plays Aussie Rules Football with the Hamilton Wildcats.

His love for being active in sport has been transformed into working with them. He has previously held roles at Victoria, Australia’s premier high-performance centre (MSAC), Whistler Blackcomb, as well as running a ski and snowboard school in Niseko, Japan, and most recently worked in the sports sponsorship space.  

This is not his first involvement in volleyball, as he spent time interpreting for the Nagoya Wolfdogs which included Japanese, Slovenian and Taiwanese national team players.

We are excited to see what Shunya can bring to our OVA team!
