The deadline for nominations for the prestigious Ken Davies Memorial Award and Evelyn Holick Award is quickly approaching! These awards celebrate exceptional 18U athletes who embody the spirit of dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship within our volleyball community.
Evelyn Holick was a trailblazer in Ontario volleyball, achieving numerous firsts as a player, coach, and official. She was Ontario’s first female National-level official and the head coach of the province’s first Women's Provincial Team, which won gold at the inaugural Canada Games. As a player, Evelyn was a key figure in the sport, competing for Team Ontario and earning multiple National Championship medals.
Award Criteria:
Presented annually at the Ontario Championships, this award recognizes a female Youth Division athlete who demonstrates outstanding commitment, leadership, sportsmanship, and athletic ability.
Ken Davies was a passionate and determined athlete from Kendal, Ontario, who excelled in multiple sports and competed for Team Ontario at the 1989 Canada Games. Known for his dedication, leadership, and unselfish play, Ken’s legacy lives on through this award, which honors athletes who share his commitment to excellence.
Award Criteria:
Presented annually, this award recognizes a male Age Division athlete who demonstrates qualities of determination, leadership, athletic ability, and sportsmanship, as exemplified by Ken Davies.
