The 2024-25 Indoor Season is right around the corner! We are excited, and we know you are too.

Before everyone jumps on the court, the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) wants all of it's athletes and clubs to be fully prepared for the season!

There has been a lot of information passed along already by way of our What's New, Competitions Calendar and Coach Eligibility Policy but it is important that everyone is aware of rules,  schedules and responsibilities of everyone in our game.

CLUB ADMIN CHECKLIST

As part of an initiative started by the Regional Council, the 2024-25 Club Admin Checklist aims to assist the running of clubs by consolidating information into one easy to follow document.

Important dates, schedules, eligibility information and links to everything you need to know as an administrator are all at your fingertips in this document.

It, along with other important documents can be found on our Club Resources page.

YOUTH COMPETITIONS MANUAL

The Indoor Youth Competitions Manual for the Indoor 2024-25 season is now available for the membership!

The manual outlines everything OVA members need to know for the upcoming indoor season, including policies, rules, regulations, and detailed information about competitions structure.

If you haven't already reviewed them, please remember to read the OVA What's New document and the 2024-25 Competitions Calendar! These and all other important information will be posted to our Indoor Competitions page.

EARLY CONTACT INITIATIVE MANUAL

The ECI Manual explores different entry points for athletes at various stages of development, emphasizing capabilities over age in athlete progression. Specifically, the  4v4 Rallyball, 6v6 Rallyball, and Traditional Limited-Specialized (TLS), each catering to different skill levels and providing opportunities for skill development and participation in volleyball competitions.

It includes specific information on eligibility criteria, event structures, rules, court sizes, net heights, and specialization guidelines for each entry point.

Additionally, it highlights the importance of fair play, multiple positions playing, and the avoidance of early specialization to support long-term athlete participation and development in volleyball.

Furthermore, it discusses the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) and its Early Contact Initiative aimed at enhancing the competition system for 11U-15U athletes, outlining the development of the initiative, key principles, goals, the Long-Term Development (LTD) 3.0 model, the need for change in the youth competition structure, and characteristics of a program prioritizing the health and needs of young athletes.

The document emphasizes developmentally appropriate opportunities, delayed specialization, inclusivity, and collaboration in creating a positive and engaging sports experience for youth. The ECI Manual and all other important information can be found on our Indoor Competitions page.
