And with that, another successful regular season has concluded. All the hard work and perseverance has gotten you to this point and all that is left is the Ontario Championships… And our year end survey!

The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) loves putting on competitions for you and see you at your best. This year saw unprecedented growth, new members, and a whole batch of new memories and competitions across our province and we cannot wait to see what the future holds.

This year brought new clubs into competition with Altitude Volleyball Club, London Region Volleyball Club and Shockwave Volleyball Club all jumping into competition. This was just the tip of the iceberg in growth throughout Ontario volleyball in this province that saw records broken.

The OVA again hosted successful convention centre tournaments at Niagara Falls Convention Centre and the Ernst and Young Centre in Ottawa, along with over 600 sanctioned events across the province. We fully expect next season to surpass these numbers with new venues and hosts joining in, creating more opportunities for competition.

This year’s accomplishments are recognized by our team and Carrie Campbell, Manager of Indoor Programs, weighed in on the season. “The 2023/2024 season will go down in the OVA history books as the most growth we have ever seen in one year, upwards of 20%, and this years Ontario Championships will see 1082 teams competing. We would like to thank our Clubs for being a huge part of this growth and creating programs that athletes in Ontario want to be a part of. Looking forward to 2024/2025 we need your help to measure our success and learn from our hiccups. We want to continue to grow our sport the right way and keeping our memberships needs at the forefront in competition design.”

The only way OVA can get better at what we do is to know what works and what did not throughout the year. Who better to let us know than the participants themselves. Please take the time to fill out our end of season survey and to suggest make any needed changes to how we operate.
