Job Opportunity: Team Canada Men's NextGen Coach

Volleyball Canada is inviting applicants for Team Canada Men's Volleyball NextGen Coach.

Based in Gatineau, QC, at the TCMV Training Centre, and under the direction of the Senior Team Head Coach and the High-Performance Director, the NextGen coach’s main function will be to assist the National Team Program with the respective goals of producing elite athletes and international competition excellence.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

The NextGen coach is to act as an identifier and developer of talent through:

  • The training and preparation of the athletes in the National Excellence Program
  • The training and preparation of the athletes within one of TCMV’s summer Programs
  • The identification and monitoring of all athletes in VC’s Development Pathway

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated high level technical knowledge of Indoor volleyball coaching principles including techniques, coaching trends, and international development
  • In-depth understanding and application of the principles of coaching, sport science/medicine and technology within a high-performance program
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication
  • Strong management skills
  • Excellent understanding of the Canadian Sport System and its stakeholders
  • Competent computer skills for communication, reporting and performance analysis, including VolleyStation and DataVolley software
  • Ability to communicate in Canada’s two official languages (English and French) is an asset
  • Provincial and/or National Team experience is an asset

This is a full-time position with an anticipated start date of September 1st, 2024.
