Volleyball Canada walks away with the hardware after a successful venture at the 2023 NORCECA Continental Championships with both the Men and Women's national teams leaving their tournaments with a podium finish.

The Women's team won the bronze medal over Cuba on home soil in the Quebec City event at the top of September. Jazmine White (Oshawa) had a stellar final game posting 14 total points, 6 of them accounting for blocks.

The women opened the tournament strong with back to back sweeps in their group - Andrea Mitrovic (Mississauga) was just shy of double digit points in their opener against Mexico. The team would fall to the Dominican Republic in the semifinals before taking the bronze to end on a high.

Canada got multiple nods in the tournament awards with Keira Van Ryk (BC) and Alexa Gray (AB) named as the Best Spikers, Emily Maglio (BC) named Second Best Blocker and Brie King (BC) as Best Setter.

The Olympic Qualification tournament is next for Canada. The event takes place in China from September 16-24.

Ontarians Stephen Maar (Aurora), Arthur Szwarc (Toronto) and Danny Demyanenko (Toronto) were key players in the opening matches, topping the stats board with heavy attacks.

Their semifinal against Cuba went to five sets where Maar and Szwarc shined once again with 28 and 22 points, respectively.

Maar was selected as the tournaments second Best Spiker, Arthur Szwarc was tabbed as the Best Opposite, Demyanenko the second Best Blocker and Luke Herr (MB) as Best Setter.

The men's team will travel to China at the end of September for the FIVB Olympic Qualifier.
