The 2023 OVA Beach Ontario Championships (OCs) returned to Ashbridges Bay on August 12-13 to conclude the two-weekend provincial event. From last year's Championships this edition saw a sizeable increase in participants, up 32% with 1,158 athletes (579 teams) competing. The Beach OCs effectively wrapped up the 2023 OVA beach volleyball season (with the exception of a final Beach Tour event in Markham on August 19) and served as the penultimate event of the season for Ontario youth athletes participating at the Volleyball Canada Beach National Championships starting August 18 at Ashbridges.
Coming off an exciting first weekend highlighted by the Adult divison, weekend two featured the Youth Open (20U), 17U, 15U and 13U age divisions. Taking the gold in the Youth Open female bracket was Oneah Duong and Teona Treskounov. The pair earned a silver at the 2022 Beach OCs in the 18UG division. The teams of G.Chimilovski/D.Chadwick and S.Henson/R.Myny placed silver and bronze, respectively. The men's Youth Open division gold was clinched by Jack Svendsen and Quintin Greenidge. This is back to back golds for Svendsen who took the title last year in the same division. Both Svendsen and Greenidge were named 18UB Grand Prix All Stars for the 2023 OVA indoor volleyball season. C.Lash/C.Ellinas claimed the silver and T.Shantz/R.Ouattara won the bronze.
