The top youth-level Indigenous volleyball athletes are making their way to Kjipuktuk (Halifax) in preparation for the 10th North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).

Running from July 15th to 23rd, the NAIG brings together over 5,000 athletes, coaches, and team staff from over 756 Indigenous Nations. More than purely a sporting event, this is a great opportunity to celebrate, share and learn about and with other Indigenous communities across North America.

Competing in Mi’kma’ki, the traditional lands of the Mi’kmaq peoples, the Games consists of 16 different sports spread across 21 facilities in Dartmouth, Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Millbrook First Nation and Sipekne’katik.

Consisting of the best Indigenous players from across Ontario, teams will compete in either indoor or beach disciplines at 16U and 19U levels. All disciplines will be round-robin style tournaments with the four indoor teams beginning play on the 17th while the four beach teams kick off on the 18th.
