The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is continually monitoring the provincial Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) for updates in areas where OVA Beach Tour events are taking place this upcoming weekend. The OVA will run these events as normal until further notice.

If athletes do not feel comfortable participating this weekend in light of the air quality advisories, they are not obligated to attend. Should you have any concerns or reservations about competing and event status, please contact our Manager of Beach Programs, Suzanne Wallace at swallace@ontariovolleyball.org.

Athletes that are participating and spectators attending are advised to take precautions this weekend.

  • Stay hydrated and take breaks.
  • Walk with masks should you choose to use them.
  • Wear eye protection if needed.
  • If asthmatic or have underlying conditions that could be affected by air quality, walk with your medications and follow your doctor's usual advice.

Please see the chart below for  the AQHI scale.
