The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is closely monitoring the situation regarding the potential CUPE Strike as it pertains to Community Use of School permits across Ontario for high school gym rentals.

Please be aware that this is an evolving situation and varies from school board to school board.  Certain school boards have already cancelled permits regardless of the bargaining process between CUPE and the government of Ontario for this upcoming weekend.

For tournaments that are affected by canceled permits on November 5th, OVA competition staff are working diligently with hosts to try and make alternative arrangements for new locations wherever possible. We remain committed to finding as many solutions as we can for the benefit of athletes, clubs, and families.

Please view the “UPCOMING INDOOR EVENTS” page of the OVA website for the most up-to-date information on tournaments affected this upcoming weekend of November 5th.

Should a tournament not be able to run due to a cancelled permit, the OVA will issue full refunds to the respective teams as the affected tournament(s) will not be rescheduled.

We thank you for your patience and collaboration in continuing to keep the ball flying.
