The OVA is saddened to learn of the passing of Eliane Belanger, a Region 6 Local Referee. Condolences are extended to Eliane's family and friends.
Certified in 2010, Eliane was an experienced and always welcoming individual among Ontario referees and her presence will be sorely missed by all she knew within the OVA and beyond.

"She was passionate about volleyball and was Captain of the gold medal-winning team at Nationals while doing her Master of Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Optical Communications and Nano-Fabrication at the Université de Sherbrooke. She had previously graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Microwave and Photonic Engineering – she was brilliant!
Her joie de vivre was evident in her characteristic magenta streak in her hair.
Throughout all her accomplishments and challenges, Eliane was always selfless, giving, and appreciative. She thanked everyone to the end until she could no longer speak."
