The OVA is pleased to welcome two members to the Indoor Volleyball Development Committee (IVDC). Judi Shum-Mousseau (Maverick Volleyball Club) and Brett Hagarty (Superior North Volleyball Club/Lakehead University) are the latest to the Committee and will work with existing members to support and develop the indoor game through review and providing input on matters such as structure and rules.
Judi and Brett both bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the group.
“Judi has many years of coaching experience with Ottawa Kangaroos and now with the Maverick Volleyball Club, winning several awards along the way. She also has extensive business experience and has sat on several boards and committees including strategic and long-range planning,” said Bruce Stafford, Co-Chair of the IVDC. “Brett, a former Evelyn Hollick winner, is a recent university graduate with extensive experience both as an athlete and a coach for both indoor and beach volleyball from the club level through Team Ontario.”
The OVA, Stafford and IVDC Co-Chair Paul Pavan would also like to thank outgoing members Alix Krahn, Chris Lawson, Dave McIntyre, Erica Naccarato and Keaton Proud for their contributions on the Committee over the past years. With the IDVC, these individuals have played large roles in recent developments to our game, which have included modifications to the Tryout Window and Fair Play divisions, conceptualizing the Early Contact Initiative, and ongoing review of the Youth Competition structure aimed for a fair and better experience for all athletes and clubs.
The Committee reviews initiatives about the development of indoor volleyball and to advise OVA staff in areas such as but not limited to athlete development, coach development, competition structure, grassroots, etc.
