Are you passionate about volleyball? Do you want to be part of reviewing initiatives about the development of indoor volleyball for Ontario? Then the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) wants you!
The OVA is seeking applications from members to serve on the Indoor Volleyball Development Committee (IVDC) for a period of two years.
For more information on the IVDC, please review the Committees Terms of Reference.
If selected, you will participate in discussions about the development of indoor volleyball initiatives for Ontario, including but not limited to athlete development, coach development, competition structure, grassroots programs, etc. Your role will be to act in an advisory capacity for the Committee.
The Committee will meet as necessary on dates determined by the appropriate OVA staff in consultation with the committee members. At a minimum, there will be monthly evening meetings with the Committee but depending on action items, the Committee sometimes meets weekly and has discussions via email.
Members interested in making an impact on the development of volleyball in Ontario must submit an application to be selected as part of the Committee and will include people with a variety of skills and experiences such as, including but not limited to:
- Experience as a coach or administrator
- Experience on previous committees or boards
- Alumni athlete or current athlete
- Post-secondary volleyball experience
- Experience volunteering on an OVA regional executive
- Knowledge of the Canadian Sport of Life and Volleyball Canada Long Term Development Model
- Experience with developmental volleyball (grassroots)
- Official/Referee
- Parent/guardian of an athlete (current or alumni)
