As per Article VIII of the Ontario Volleyball Association’s (OVA) Bylaws, the OVA Board of Directors have called a Special Meeting of members to take place on November 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. to present and vote on the proposed OVA Bylaw revisions.
The agenda of the Special Meeting of Members is to vote upon seven motions to amend the OVA’s Bylaws to comply with the legal requirements of the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA), that will be proclaimed on October 19, 2021.
As per the OVA current Bylaws, Section 8.1 “These Bylaws may only be amended, revised, repealed or added to by a two-thirds affirmative vote of the voting Members present at a meeting duly called to amend, revise or repeal these Bylaws. Upon affirmative vote, any amendments, revisions, addition or deletions will be effective immediately.”

Only regional voting delegates will be eligible to vote at the Special Meeting of Members on the proposed Bylaw revisions.
To express interest in becoming a regional voting delegate at the Special Meeting, a member must submit their name online via OVA Formstack. Regional delegates will then be voted upon at each region’s Regional General Meeting.
Note: Interested individuals do not need to participate in the Regional AGM to be voted in as a regional delegate.

The OVA Annual General Meeting will take place virtually on December 12, 2021.
