Ontario Volleyball Association looking for Championship Host Cities for 2024 & 2025

Since its inception in 2008, when the first open festival-style Championship events were introduced at RIM Park Financial Sportsplex in Waterloo, the Ontario Volleyball Association's (OVA) Ontario Championships have exceeded expectations and provided all athletes and teams from across the province an opportunity to compete on the provincial stage under one roof.  

The number of teams participating has grown exponentially, increasing to over 840 teams in 2020. Today, over 35,000 athletes, coaches, officials, organizers, volunteers, and spectators  participate in 15 events across as many as four (4) weekends.  

The OVA is currently seeking proposals to host its season culminating championship events for 2024 and 2025.

The event will require over 12,500+ hotel room nights and has traditionally generated over $18 million of economic impact on the host community (if hosted in one city).

Pertinent Bid Details

Deadline to submit Letter of Intent: September 14, 2021, by 5:00 p.m.  
Deadline for Full Bid package submission: October 31, 2021, by 5:00 p.m. 
Event Dates: The month of April (both 2024 and 2025)
Venue requirements: Minimum 30-feet ceilings; column-free space or columns spaced 90 feet apart; at least eight (8) storage areas and meeting rooms 
Estimated number of attendees:  7,000-40,000 depending on the size of the event 
Room nights: 12,500+ if hosted in one city
