The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is pleased to announce the release of the 2021-22 Indoor Competition season calendar. For the first time in over 18 months, we are preparing for a return to a normal competition model starting in November 2021, with Ontario Championships schedule for April 2022.

With sights firmly set on providing competitions this upcoming indoor season, we will be working closely with all facilities and hosts to ensure we have safety plans and protocols in place to safely return to 9 team tournaments at venues across Ontario.  Over the past year and a half, the OVA staff have developed multiple alternative formats that we can put in place in case additional government restrictions are put back in place due to the COVID-19 landscape.  

The OVA is also busy planning a return to Ontario Championships for the first time since 2019. However, the divisional splits will not be announced until early November, after team registration at the Club level is complete in the Membership Registration System (MRS). This will allow the OVA competitions staff time to better evaluate the total team numbers to create better age division splits at the two locations of RIM Park in Waterloo and Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga.  Additionally, the Ontario Championships hotel booking process will open in early January 2022, after the process is ironed out with Hudson Travel Group. More information will be forthcoming.

The health and safety of all OVA stakeholders remains at the forefront of the return to indoor volleyball plan. As the province progresses through the Government’s Roadmap to Re-Open plan, the OVA will continue to work closely with the Clubs to assist with volleyball safety protocols if changes continue to come down from the Ontario Government to ensure compliance at all levels for the safe delivery of our sport.
