The March 1st Virtual Town Hall session has been uploaded to the OVA YouTube channel. Click here to watch the meeting. The presentation slides are also available to view.

A 2021 season has been proposed for beach volleyball with regulations, structure, locations, referee assignments and age categories in place. Building from the 2020 Beach Friendlies model, the modified Beach Tour will follow the OVA Return to Play regulations and will incorporate playoffs, a point system and medals awarded to the top two teams. There are plans to host a modified Ontario Championships-style of event; however, this approach will depend on the community measures in place around that time and the decision of the Government of Ontario regarding sport events.

Opportunities to host grass volleyball events were also discussed. Another outdoor volleyball Town Hall will follow up on these items in mid-April.

Return to Play Updates

Ontario Volleyball has also updated its Return to Play Protocol documents. Updated documents include:

  • Appendix F: Daily Health Screening Questionnaire (Adult)
  • Appendix F: Daily Health Screening Questionnaire (Children/Youth up to 18)

All updated documents can be found here.

With the recent decision by the Government of Ontario to ease restrictions across multiple Public Health Units (PHU), Clubs should continue to work with their local PHU and facilities to ensure activities align with public health, municipal and facility requirements in addition to the OVA Return to Play protocols.
