The OVA is saddened to learn that longtime referee, Modris Lorbergs has passed away.

The National Referee from Region 5 and former OFSAA Convener was an outstanding individual calling volleyball matches and swimming meets for many years. Lorbergs was also a proud and integral individual  to the Canadian-Latvian sport community, having coached several Latvian teams and by serving as the President of the Latvian Sports Association in Canada where he was continually supporting  athletes and encouraging them to take part in Latvian sporting events.

OVA extends its condolences to Lorbergs family and friends.
