The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is pleased to support the Feed Ontario food bank network. In partnership with the OVA’s official clothing provider and small business, Canuck Stuff, the partnership will be selling our commemorative 2020 Ontario Championship t-shirts and hoodies, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to the Feed Ontario COVID 19 Emergency fund.
“Having food on the table is a luxury not everyone can afford, especially in these difficult and uncertain times,” said Jo-Anne Ljubicic, executive director of Ontario Volleyball Association. “Sport teaches us so much as individuals including how to work as a team especially in moments of crisis. Supporting our community food banks and our partners are ways we can give back.”
Food banks need your help
COVID-19 has been a perfect storm of bad conditions for food banks: there is a surge in demand for support, while fewer volunteers are available to help, and food is harder to acquire. Food banks are starting to run out of food and resources.
Through the FeedOntario.ca program, a donation of $30 can provide an Emergency Food Box that will supply enough food to help someone in need stay home and stay safe during the COVID-19 crisis for a full week.
What is Feed Ontario’s plan?
Feed Ontario is working together with Food Banks Canada, local food banks, and their partners to create pre-packed emergency food boxes for all food banks in Ontario. By combining their efforts, they can help Ontario’s food banks continue to support their communities while minimizing exposure to COVID-19.
