The OVA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on December 1st at the Cambridge Hotel and Conference Centre. The purpose of the AGM is to inform the members and to deal with the usual business of the OVA, such as Report of Auditors and Elections.

The day began with a Strategic Planning session led by Ron Wuotila of RW Sport Performance Consulting. OVA members and staff in attendance engaged in group activities, such as brainstorming mission and vision goals, and meaningful discussion surrounding the future OVA 2021-2025 Strategic Plan and its key priorities as the current model caps off in the next year.

The AGM concluded in the afternoon with presentations and the elections for the open positions on the Board of Directors. OVA Director of Athlete Development, LP Mainville spoke on the newly implemented Indoor Volleyball Development Committee and seeking participants to join and a video was shown highlighting key accomplishments from 2018-2019.

The OVA would like to welcome Chris Lawson to the Board of Directors as a Director at Large and congratulate Daphne Choi who was re-elected as a Director at Large. The OVA would also like to thank past Board member Parrish Offer (Director at Large) for fulfilling his role admirably.

The 2018-2019 Annual Report is available to view, providing updates on the OVA’s progress in achieving its goals in the six pillars of the current strategic plan. Highlights from the OVA’s programming and international successes from current and former athletes are also featured.
