TORONTO, ON (October 18, 2019) – The Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) is excited to announce the fourth annual Eastern Elite Invitational tournament will take place March 21-22, 2020 at the University of Guelph.

The Eastern Elite Invitational is a prestigious event that welcomes the top 17U Girls teams across Canada to compete in Ontario at a high-performance format. Coaches from USports and the CCAA will be invited to get a preview at some of the country’s top talent, offering a unique opportunity for athletes to gain additional exposure prior to competing at Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta later in the year.

“After last year’s event at the Markham Pan-Am Centre, it’s great to bring the Eastern Elite back to Ontario once more,” stated Carrie Campbell, OVA Manager of Indoor Programs. “As we continue to grow this Invitational as a high-performance event and expand our resources to provide high-caliber teams across the country the opportunity to come together and compete, we are looking forward to another fantastic tournament in 2020.”

The tournament, formerly known as the Ontario-Quebec Series, has been rebranded to try to encourage exceptional teams in Western Canada, as well as the Maritime provinces, to make the trip to compete and further develop their skills by facing different teams in preparation for Nationals.

This tournament will be capped at 12 teams and is open to register by invitation only. Teams who are interested in receiving an invitation to compete at the Eastern Elite Invitational should contact Carrie Campbell at ccampbell@ontariovolleyball.org. Post-secondary coaches who would like to attend the event for recruiting purposes should also contact Carrie to receive your credentials.
