TORONTO, ON (October 16, 2019) - After an extensive consultation process with its members, the OVA has decided to cease the implementation of the High Performance League (HPL) project. The willingness of the OVA to engage with the membership on numerous occasions allowed concerns with the proposal to be brought to light. In the end, the risks involved with the HPL project were deemed too important to pursue as presented.

The OVA is committed to implementing meaningful improvements to the competition structure for indoor volleyball and will establish the Learn to Compete competition restructure process using a different approach. Details on this new process will be released soon along with information on how members can get involved.

The OVA would like to thank everyone who participated in the consultation process and who provided feedback about the HPL project until the very end. This process in its entirety was a great example of how good outcomes for the athletes can be achieved when the membership and the OVA staff work together.
