With Rowan's Law in effect as of July 01, 2019, athletes under the age of 26, parents and/or legal guardians of athletes under the age of 18, coaches, team trainers and officials must confirm each year that they have reviewed Ontario's Concussion Awareness Resources and the OVA Concussion Code of Conduct along with the Review of Concussion Awareness Resource Acknowledge Form that is included in the Individual OVA  Registration Form found here.

For members who registered prior to July 01, 2019 and are under the age of 26, this will not be required but it is highly recommended that the OVA Code of Conduct and these resources be reviewed.

Newly registered members (after July 01, 2019) under 26 along with parents of those who are under 18, coaches and trainers will be required to confirm that they have read and reviewed the concussion awareness resources. An email has been sent to confirm their agreement.

It is important that everyone who is involved in sports, whether competitive or recreational, understands the implications of a concussion and what to do if you suspect one. This means knowing the signs, symptoms and red flags that can happen both mentally and physically. Resources from the Government of Ontario can be found here.
