Canadian Youth Women's National Team making History with World Championships Appearance

For the first time ever, the Canadian Youth Women's National Team is going to the 18U World Championships taking place September 5 - 14 in Egypt. They will face Korea in Pool B at 4:00 p.m. EST on Sept. 5, 2019.

The team qualified for the championships last summer when they defeated Cuba at the NORCECA Continental Championship Qualifier in Honduras. 

Of the 17 athletes on the team, 11 are from Ontario.

Jenna Pollock - St. Catharines, ON
Mady Saris - Burlington, ON
Anna Smrek - Welland, ON
Mary Stewart - Uxbridge, ON
Victoria D'Acre -  Mississauga, ON
Hannah Duchesneau - Sharon, ON
Anna Gadomski - Mississauga, ON

In addition to the athletes, four of the team's staff also hail from Ontario.
