The OVA is proud to announce that Darren O’Neil has been selected as the men’s Beach Team Ontario head coach for the 2021 Canada Games program. The head coach was chosen 3 years out of the Canada Games to allow enough time for professional development and better program planning. The selection for the women’s Beach Team Ontario head coach for the Canada Games program is ongoing.

Darren has been with the Team Ontario beach program since 2014. He is the founder and head coach of OnPoint Beach Volleyball out in Windsor where he helps young athletes develop their passion for beach volleyball. Darren is a young and dynamic coach with an intense desire to learn. He has recently completed his Advanced Development coach certification on the beach and will be working on getting his Performance coach certification leading to the Canada Games. It will be Darren’s first participation in these multi-sport games.

Darren had this to say about his selection as the Canada Game coach: "I am honoured and humbled for the opportunity to work with Ontario's best beach volleyball athletes. I'm excited to be apart of a high performance championship environment. I'm looking forward to guiding athletes through their personal learning process leading towards a major highlight tournament."
