How to Register Teams PDF Print E-mail

The information below will assist you while going through the various steps when registering as a volleyball Team within OVA online. It is recommended you print this document prior to registering.

Important: Before registering as a Team Contact you must be prepared to register a team at this time (minimum of 8 players).  If the players are not in the OVA database, you will require the personal information for a minimum of 8 players.  It is the Team Contact's responsibility to obtain each player's personal information on an individual registration form.  The form is to be completed by the athlete and signed by his/her parent or guardian (for privacy and insurance purposes).  The registration form can be printed off the OVA website in the "Resources" area in "Registration".   If you do not have the information for 8 players, wait until you have 8 before registering as "Team Contact".

Registration Procedures

  • Go to OVA website www.ontariovolleyball.org.
  • Select "Online Registration" at the top of the right column above "OVA News".
  • Returning OVA Members proceed to Step 1.
  • New Members proceed to Step 2.

Step 1 - Returning OVA Members

  • Enter login & password.
  • Forgotten or do not know your login & password?  See "Important Information" at the bottom of this page.
  • Proceed to Step 4.

Step 2 - Sign in Information

  • Create a Member Login between 6-20 characters.
  • Create a password with a minimum 4 characters and/or numbers.

Step 3 - Personal Information

  • Fill in your personal information - Fields with an * are mandatory.
  • Valid email address is very important as this is the primary communication tool between the OVA and its members (i.e. schedules, tournaments, registration, confirmation emails, announcements, etc.).
  • Select continue.

Step 4 - Category Selection

  • Select "Register in another Category".
  • Select the category "Team Contact".
  • A gray box will appear, click 'OK' (reminder you must have club password to register team).
  • You must register as a "Team Contact" in order to register a team.

Step 5 - Team Registration

  • To register your team - Once you have registered as a "Team Contact", select the "Register a Team" link  which is now available.
  • Cursor down & select the club from the drop down menu, enter the club password and click "Verify"
  • Once again select the club from the drop down menu, enter the team name, region, city and select the team gender and category.  Then click "Create Team".
  • Proceed to change your coach, add assistant coaches or team manager if you wish then click "Next".
  • Select players/coaches from database.  Verify the postal code as noted on screen.  If info does not match, add new player/coach information, then click "Add Player/Coach".
  • When the roster is complete, you may register for tournaments at this time or go straight to payment - Step 6.
  • Select all the tournaments that the team is eligible for and click "Select".  If tournament registration is required later, the Team Contact must log in and select the team name listed in the right hand column under "My Teams".  Cursor down the page & select "Register for a Tournament".

Step 6 - Payment

  • Your registration fees will be summarized on this page. 
  • Select "Proceed to Secure Checkout".  A secure connection will be opened for your protection.o Enter your payment information (name on card & card number).  No spaces in the credit card number.  Select your card (VISA or MC) and expiry date.  Click "Submit" once.
  • Your payment will be processed.
  • Your registration & payment confirmation will appear on the screen.  PRINT THIS PAGE FOR YOUR RECORDS.
  • A payment confirmation email will be sent to your email address for your records.
  • In addition, an email will be sent to your partner with the tournament name & date and your name.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Forgotten or do not know your login & password?  Select - "Did you forget or don't have your Member Login and/or Password?" on the registration page at the bottom of the "Existing Members" box.
  • Select your date of birth (day & month), type in your year of birth & email address (entered at the time of registering) and click "Submit".  Your login & password will be sent to your email address instanteously.
  • If "Please try again, the following errors were encountered:   The information you entered does not match our records." appears on the screen.  Please contact the office to confirm this information.

Note Please be aware there is a security feature in the online system.  If you are in the process of registering players and called away from the computer for more than 10 minutes, all the information will be lost by the time you return to continue registering.  Therefore, do not wander away or get distracted while you are in the process of registering.  It is recommended you register your team first.  Then log back in to register and submit payment for the appropriate tournaments.
