Team Ontario (Indoor)

This year the OVA is excited to announce new changes to the naming of its High Performance programs.

This year in accordance with the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plan, programs will be defined by skill level rather than age categories. This decision was made in accordance with LTAD principles to give consideration to the late developing nature of volleyball athletes and to accompany their development within High Performance programming. Volleyball Canada has demonstrated this shift to skill-based programming with its 2018 Canada Cup (formerly known as NTCC) in which all Team Ontario programs will compete.

The new names of Team Ontario programs are:

Team Ontario Team Ontario Red (formerly 16U)
Team Ontario Team Ontario Black (formerly 17U)

Team Ontario RED & High Performance Centre (HPC)

Team Ontario Red athletes will be selected at the end of HPC for direct participation in the 2018 Canada Cup. The athletes selected to be on Team Ontario Red will train for two days before they head to the competition in Richmond, BC. This program is meant to give certain players an opportunity to implement the concepts learned during HPC in a competitive environment.
