The Quest for Gold – Ontario Athlete Assistance Program 2005/2006
Program (OAAP) is funded by the Provincial Government of Ontario,
through the Ministry of Health Promotion. The Program will provide
direct financial assistance to individual junior level athletes from
Ontario through an “Ontario Card” designation.
The intent of the OAAP is to provide funding to individual athletes based on their demonstrated commitment to high performance sport, allowing them to pursue athletic excellence at the highest levels of national and international competition. The OAAP is one of three funding streams being implemented in 2005-06 under the Quest for Gold Program. In addition to the OAAP the Quest for Gold Program will also provide funding to enhance access to high performance coaching and to provide enhanced competitive opportunities and services for Ontario athletes. Funding for the Quest for Gold Program will be obtained from net revenues generated by the Quest for Gold lottery game being established by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLGC). |
