Volleyball Canada is please to announce that Julien Boucher has been hired as Volleyball Canada’s Technical Director. Julien is certainly no stranger to the sport of volleyball and brings with him to the position a wealth of knowledge and respect as both a coach and an administrator. Julien’s history in the sport spans back to 1979 where he was an assistant coach with Team Quebec at the Canada Games in Brandon, MB. A NCCP Level 4 certified coach since 1992, and a Level 1-3 course conductor since 1985, Boucher has coached extensively nationally at the club, university and provincial team level as well as internationally with Team Canada Men's volleyball and as a professional coach in France. Julien has held numerous positions on provincial and national development committees such as the Elite and Coaching Development Committee for the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and Saskatchewan, and nationally on the CBET, LTAD, Domestic Development and Team Canada Men's High Performance committees. Most recently, Julien held the position of Technical Director for the Ontario Volleyball Association from 1998 – 2001 before taking on the same role with the Quebec Volleyball Federation from 2001 to present. The obvious next step for Julien was as Technical Director for the National Federation and Volleyball Canada is very pleased to have someone of Julien’s immense background and ability leading the way.
