Ontario Volleyball has changed its Beach Volleyball program for the upcoming Ontario Summer Games held in Ottawa. 

No Training Camp

There will no longer be a training camp held in advance of the Games.  Invited Athletes will arrive in Ottawa on Wednesday August 13 and register as a participant in the OSGs.  

Competition Format Change

The competition at the OSGs has been changed to a “Queen/King of the Beach” type format .  This means that athletes will compete as individuals and play each match with a different partner.  Athletes will be ranked according to their individual results.  The schedule will be posted on the OVA website and sent out to all participants by Thursday August 7.  On the last day of competition, the top 2 ranked athletes will be awarded Gold medals, the 3rd and 4th ranked athletes will be awarded Silver medals and the 5th and 6th ranked athletes will be awarded Bronze medals.

Cost

The cost for each athlete to take part in the Games will be $120.  This fee will cover all food and accommodations from August 13-16, the cost of the competition, uniform tops, as well as all Ontario Summer Games events such as the opening and closing ceremonies etc.  All 32 athletes per gender will be contacted individually by Tuesday August 5 at 12:30pm.
