Last Thursday the Ministry of Health Promotion held its annual Ontario Sport Awards banquet at the Granite Club in Toronto. Two (2) members of the OVA Executive were honoured for their contributions. VP Beach Kristine Drakich received the Syl Apps Special Achievement Award. The Province of Ontario presents this Award annually to Ontario volunteers who have contributed to the development of sport throughout the province. Brenda Willis received the prestigious Rolf Lund Jule Nisse Award. The Rolf Lund Jule Nisse Award is awarded posthumously each year honouring former SAO and Community Sport Council Chair, Rolf Lund in recognition of outstanding “playground to podium” commitment to sport.
