Ontario Volleyball is now accepting applications for Coaching Positions within the 2010 Ontario Indoor Provincial Team Training programs.




2010 Team Ontario Training Program Description

Female

22 athletes born in 1992 or later will be identified mainly through the 2010 OVA High Performance Centre.  These athletes will train from July 12th to July 18th before attending the 2010 National Team Training Centre (NTTC) in Manitoba. Provincial Team coaches will work closely with a Mentor coach in the planning and delivery of the training and competition program.

Male

22 athletes born in 1991 or later will be identified mainly through the 2010 OVA High Performance Centre.  These athletes will train from July 12th to July 18th before the 2010 National Team Training Centre (NTTC) begins in Toronto, Ontario. Provincial Team coaches will work closely with a Mentor coach in the planning and delivery of the training and competition program.

Mentor Coach

In addition to leading program delivery, the Mentor Coach will conduct regular debriefs designed to encourage ongoing improvement by providing constructive meaningful feedback to Provincial Team Coaches.

2010 National Team Training Centre Program Description

Athletes from all over Canada will participate in a training centre headlined by the National Team coaches. The training centre will start July 18th and end July 25th. The Centre will include; position specific training, team training and scrimmages, sport science presentations and physical conditioning sessions. Athletes will also be indentified for future involvement in Canada’s National Team program.

Provincial Team Coach Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist in athlete selection for the High Performance Centre (HPC) at HPC Open Tryout
• Help plan group training sessions at HPC
• Assist in athlete selection at HPC
• Help create a periodized training plan leading up to the NTTC
• Perform administrative duties as needed
• Coaching on-site during pre-NTTC training camp
• Serve as a coach at NTTC
• Complete debriefs with coaches, athletes and OVA following NTTC

NCCP Requirements

• Minimum of NCCP Level 2 full certification
