Canada Will Join World League in 2008
After hosting a successful World League season in 2007, Canada's Senior Men's
National Team was given the green light by the FIVB's World League Council this past
weekend to rejoin the prestigious FIVB World League competition for 2008.
The 2008 edition will kick off June 13th and runs till the weekend of July
18th with the World League Finals being scheduled for Brazil July
23-27.
The spring of 2007 saw Canada compete in this elite level
competition for the first time since 2000. It took Team Canada a few years
to build on the criteria necessary to regain a World League berth, however
with a strong program and additional funding support in place, the FIVB
accepted Canada's candidature for 2007 and now again for
2008.
