The OVA is proud to announce that Jake MacNeil has been named the recipient of the 2012 Jason Senechal Memorial Award.

The Jason Senechal Memorial Award is presented to the Youth Beach Athlete that best demonstrates the qualities of honour, fair play, and sportsmanship. Making this Award all the more special is the fact that it is voted on by one's peers, the athletes of the OVA Beach Tour. Athletes such as Lance Reynolds, Eric Kuld, Sam Schachter, Katie Jenkins, Victoria Altomare, Cam Wheelan and Grant O’Gorman are all previous recipients of the Award.

Jake MacNeil has contributed to the spirit of competition and fair play, exemplifying the qualities of honour and good sportsmanship on the OVA Beach Tour. Jake shows great determination and passion for the sport, and always has a positive attitude on and off the court. Jake is also this year's 18U Beach Provincial Champion, which is very impressive considering him and his partner Andrew Richards are only 16 years old. Jake and Andrew won Beach Nationals in 2011 in the 16U division.
