2009-2010 OVA Adult Competitions Update 1 (Nov 1, 2009)

NEW for the 2009-2010 season:

The OVA Adult Competitions season will now be a 2 day Ontario Championship (Saturday April. 17th - Division 1, Sunday April. 18th - Division 2).  The event is scheduled to take place at the Manulife Sports Complex at RIM Park in Waterloo. 

Divisions will be offered for all levels: Elite/Competitive, and Intermediate/Recreational.
Specialized volleyball Sport Court will be laid out for competitions while merchandise booths and canteens will be made available throughout the event.  

Date of Event: April 17-18, 2010 
Location: RIM Park, Waterloo
Cost: Ontario Championship Entry Fee - $350 (includes membership)
Registration Deadline: February 28th, 2009

Team Registration
Teams will register online via the OVA/NRS online registration system.  Adult teams will register their team name, team contact & email address.  Rosters will be emailed to Ryan Mercado - This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Roster Regulations
Each team is permitted to register up to 15 players.  Any rosters with less than 6 players will default their matches and be removed from the tournament.

Players are not permitted to play for more than one team.

Prizes Prizes will be given out to finalists and finals MVP or All Stars. 

Rule Changes

Contact with the Net
: Contact with the net by a player is not a fault, unless it interferes with the play.  Players may touch the post, ropes, or any other object outside the antennae, including the net itself, provided that it does not interfere with play. Please refer to the Volleyball Canada Rulebook for further information (rule 11.3.1). Game Balls: The official indoor ball of Ontario Volleyball adult competition is the MIKASA MVA200 (FIVB International Ball).
