Exemption Card PDF Print

As per the Ontario Volleyball coaching certification policy, a coach must be a certified Level one coach in order to sit on the bench at an OVA tournament.  If a coach is in the process of obtaining their certification during the competitive season (September 1st through May), they must obtain an OVA exemption card from the OVA to show officials at each OVA tournament.

Exemption Card Tournament Procedure:

The exemption card number (EE#) is to be written on the score sheet below the coach's signature.

If the coach can not produce the above requirements (proof of NCCP certification or OVA exemption):

a) the official will note this on the score sheet, AND
b) the team will be fined $100 for the tournament and will be ineligible to compete in subsequent OVA Tournaments until the fine is paid in full.
c) If the coach forgot their level certified NCCP passport or OVA Coaching Certification Excemption Car, the team will be fined $25 and will be ineligible to compete in subsequent OVA tournaments until the fine is paid in full.

A team will be allowed to finish a set/match without a certified coach if the team’s only certified coach gets ejected/disqualified from that set/match.

NOTE: The officials are not authorized to collect fines and are not authorized to determine whether a fine has been paid or not.
