The NCCP Level 2 Volleyball Course attempts to build on the concepts presented in the NCCP Level 1 Volleyball Certification Program. This is an intermediate indoor volleyball coaching course and is intended for coaches who aspires to develop athletes and teams which will be competitive at provincial level competitions (i.e. provincial championships) and deals with skill variation, position specialization, running cohesive practices and introduces seasonal planning and periodization.
The Ontario Volleyball Association governs the sport specific courses of the NCCP. These include the Level 2 Indoor Volleyball courses and the Level 2 Portfolio and Evaluatio.
These are the minimum requirements for achieving your CERTIFIED designation for NCCP Level 2 Indoor Volleyball as prescribed by Volleyball Canada in conjunction with the Coaching Association of Canada.
Requirements to be designated IN-TRAINING
A) Successful Completion of the Level 2 volleyball Course
Requirements to be designated as TRAINED
A) Level 2 IN-TRAINING designation
B) Successful completion of the Intro to Comp B course
a) Designing a Sport Program
b) Teaching/Learning
c) Teaching basic mental skills
C) Completion of the NCCP Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation.
D) Level 1 Volleyball Certified
Requirements to be designated as CERTIFIED
A) Level 2 TRAINED Designation
B) Completion of the Level 2 Volleyball Coaching Portfolio
a) A description of your indoor volleyball coaching context
b) An Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
c) A completed Practice Observation Form from observing a match directed by a NCCP certified indoor volleyball coach (a Level 3 or higher certified coach is recommended).
d) Verification of one full season of training (minimum of 80 training hours) as a head coach.
e) A full season of properly structured written practice plans (minimum 80 hours)
C) Upon completion of all portfolio assignments, be formally observed an evaluated by a NCCP Certified Level 3 or higher volleyball coach in a practice setting (a Level 2 coach maybe used for evaluation in certain circumstances).
D) Membership with your PSO during the full period in which the portfolio and observation requirements are being completed.
NOTE: Please complete your portfolio (Assignments “A” through “F” and provide to your evaluator prior to the start of the training session in which you will be evaluated.
