For those that play at a highly competitive level, the OVA offers competitive doubles tours at the "A" and "AA" and "Elite" levels. **NEW Co-ed 4's Series** This year the OVA in conjunction with Beach Blast and Outtahand will host a Co-ed 4's Series. With stops throughout the province plus a Provincial Championship, teams will be playing for great merchandise prizing.
To qualify for Ontario Championships athletes must participate in a minimum of 3 adult events. These events can be entirely made up of OVA Tour events or a combination of OVA Tour events and Satellite Events . A maximum of 2 Satellite events will be counted toward qualification for Ontario Championships. This means you must participate in at least one OVA Beach Tour event in order to participate in provincials. If an athlete plays in FIVB events, they must play in at least one OVA tour event in order to be eligible for provincials. The FIVB events do not have to be in direct conflict with OVA events. Provincial team athletes are exempt from provincials and are allowed to participate in Nationals provided that they have participated in a minimum of 3 events (combination of OVA Tour and Satellite events). OVA sanctioned Satellite Events would count as participation towards provincials (up to a maximum of 2 participations). In addition, OVA Beach Tour points will not be given to players for FIVB events or sanctioned Satellite Events.
Seeding for VC Nationals is based on results from the Ontario Championships. If teams or partners do not participate in provincials but are still eligible to participate in Nationals, their seeding is based on the average results from the current OVA Beach Tour. Special seeding considerations may be given to those who qualify for Nationals by participating in FIVB events.
Ontario Volleyball would like to welcome Mikasa as the official volleyball for the OVA Beach Tour.
