The point system is a single, linear scale that compares AAA players to athletes that play in A7. There is an overlap that will allow for more movement. 1st in A1 is better than 5th in AA but not 4th. Athletes that play in AAA events will be recognized according to the grid, but participation in a AAA or AA qualifying event will not.
How It Works Year-End Final Rankings = Average of Best 2 Events from 2007 + Provincials and & Nationals Once the seeding points have been determined for all teams, above 820 points may play in Elite (plus teams from qualifiers will make the draw), the next 12 will be in AA, the next 18 in A1, the next 18 in A2, and so on (depending on the number of teams registered). Those who wish to take part in the "Elite" should register in the Elite qualifier. If the teams who register in the Elite qualifier have enough points for the Elite main draw, they will be place there. The OVA website will indicate if there is a qualifier or not.
Adult players in these designated satellite events MAY use these events to count as participation events towards the OVA Provincial Beach Championships (up to a maximum of 2 satellite event participations per individual). This means you must participate in at least one OVA Beach Tour event in order to participate in provincials. A1 points CAN be awarded to any adult/open satellite event with over 4 teams. (Open Provincial ranking: Average of best 3 results from the current OVA Beach Tour)NOTE: points will not be awarded unless they are needed to increase your rank. If you would like your points to count for Ontario Championships, please contact Kristiina Nielander, OVA Beach Tour Director at (416) 426-7441 or email:
