University of Toronto Varsity Blues Present OVA Open House

Join us for our fourth annual OVA Day at the state-of-the-art Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues volleyball teams take on the York Lions this Sunday, January 21.

Toronto’s men kick off the action at 1 p.m., with the women to follow at 3 p.m.

The Blues men are 4-4 midway through the regular season and are coming off an upset 3-0 victory over the Ryerson Rams last Saturday night. Outside hitter Alex Barnes leads all players in the country, averaging 4.69 kill and 5.2 points per set, while fellow sophomore Jordan Figueira ranks third among OUA setters, averaging 9.65 assists per set.

Toronto’s women are 6-3 and also boast some of the top players in the country. Third-year right side hitter Alina Dormann, the two-time reigning OUA East player of the year, leads the province in kills (3.78) and points (4.9) per set. Rookie setter Angelica Hovanessian also tops the OUA with 8.86 assists per set.
