Wednesday, September 6, 2017

The FIVB announced the 2017 beach season's award winners yesterday with some notable Canadians and OVA alumni claiming some hardware.

Canadian Sarah Pavan was voted as the Top Blocker for the second-time (2015 and 2017) while her partner, Melissa Humana-Paredes, was named the World Tour’s Most Improved Player. Humana-Paredes, who teamed with Pavan to win Canada’s first Majors gold medal at July’s stop in Croatia, was the 2014 FIVB Rookie of the Year.

On the men's side, Sam Pedlow of Canada was honoured as the Most Improved Player.

Congratulations on a fantastic season!
